A group, the Owan Patriotic Front (OPF) has responded to recent comments by the chairman of People’s Democratic Party in Owan West Local Government Area, Mr. David Okoh Aigbodion, aka Arizona, wherein he castigated High Chief Lucky Ohimai a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

In a statement released today, the group cautioned Aigbodion to desist from further provocative statement and should rather congratulate Chief Ohimai who they referred to as their “most illustrious son.”

Below is the full statement:

“Our attention has been drawn to yet another ugly and disgraceful tale from Owan West Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, David Okoh-Aigbodion, aka Arizona and his band of election manipulators who met their waterloo at the just concluded Edo State Governorship Election held Saturday, 21 September; wherein he maligned a chieftain of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of Owan’s most illustrious sons, in the person of Chief Lucky Ohimai, AKA Tarex. Ordinarily, we would have ignored him, his gang of election riggers and the litany of their inanities.

“However, we decided to reply to his shady article because of our Edo adage which says that “when a community allows a man to continously rush food meant for all members of that community and appropriate same to only himself without reprimand, such a man would think he has the intelligence and cerebral capacity to continue to cheat the people”, hence we want to set the records straight, to enable those who are yet to be aware of his diabolical political strategy to be more informed about his evil activities.

“It is surprising and grossly infantile for David Okoh-Aigbodion to be celebrating the defeat of his political party, the PDP as success in the 21 September Edo governorship election, where their outing was unprecedentedly abysmal, as they were loudly and unequivocally rejected, not only by Owan voters, but by the generality of Edo electorates.

“It is unfortunate that the Owan West PDP Chairman does not know the simple difference between winning an election, like the feat APC attained in that election; and losing an election like his party, PDP did in the same election.

“That Okoh-Aigbodion has become a bold comrade of failure in the election, points to the fact that the devastating blow dealt on him, his party and his gang of thugs, has purveyed him into stupor.

“We hope when he becomes conscious he will be courageous enough to do the needful and congratulate Chief Lucky Ohimai, his followers and Edo State chapter of APC.

“The allegations levied against Mr. Imoukhuede Issac Ohimai, aka Gala Man, Reeton Alufokhai (aka Kilo), Udugwomeh Ohilebo, Pele Unangbaoje, Ejiro Samuel (aka Gadafi), Frank Ehimiyein (aka Pounpon), and Ohiosimuan Esemuze by Okoh-Aigbodion are criminal in nature and therefore apt to have reported it to the police and other security agencies. But on the contrary, the deflated Okoh-Aigbodion kept mute at the appropriate time, only to make a voltface after the election results surfaced on social media.

“While we advice the Owan West PDP Chairman and his defeated leaders to be closer to the people and be part of their daily lives, like Ohimai whom they have chosen now, he should repent and stop maligning the people-centric Tarex because of petty jealousy.

“We make bold to say that the outcome of the governorship election in Owan West Local Government Area has vindicated Ohimai and his followers that Okoh-Aigbodion is not on ground and it is a vote of no confidence on him, his party and the puppet they manipulated into the chairmanship position of the Local Government Council.

“It will be most honourable for them to resign now as they have been rejected outrightly by the people.”
