Edo 2024: APC Candidate, Okpebholo on Thank You Tour...Says Edo People Cannot Go Outside its Shores to Borrow Governor

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the September 2024 election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed his profound gratitude to the people of Edo State for the overwhelming support so far.

He stated this at every stop on his way from the Federal Capital, Abuja, yesterday, March 29, 2024, and at the reception accorded him on his return to Esanland to commence his thank-you tour.

According to the businessman and farmer, “Edo people cannot go outside its shores to borrow a governor.”

The APC candidate who was received by jubilant crowd, cautioned Esan people not to elect a person who cannot speak Esan.

He added that, “somebody who cannot speak his language cannot be an Esan man.

“A true Esan man is here,” the APC Governorship candidate reminded the surging crowd. He used the occasion to articulate his vision for the Unity and Progress of Edo State.

Underscoring his inclusive approach to governance and his commitment to serving all constituents, regardless of geographical boundaries, Okpebholo prayed for the people of Edo South, Edo Central and Edo North.

“Esan di fure,” (It shall be well with Esanland), as he committed himself to the welfare and prosperity of Edo Central.

“Edo di fure” (It shall be well with Benin), reaffirming his dedication to the Edo Edo South people, the historical home of great Benin Kingdom.

The crowd responded with deafening approval of amen.

Facing the land of ‘Kukuruku’ hills, the people of Edo North, Okpebholo resoundingly declared – “Afemai di fure” (It shall be well with Afemai).

The man popularly called ‘Akpakomiza’ by his constituents, gave his commitment: “We will work in Esan land, we will work in Afemai land, and we will work in Benin lands.”

He used the opportunity to charge Edo men and women, and youths to get ready for the imminent salvation that will free resources for the urgent infrastructural and human development in the state.

“Edo State cannot be held to a standstill again,” the APC governorship hopeful insisted.

On his journey home from Abuja, his convoy made several stopovers at Okpilla in Etsako East Local Government Area, Ikabigbo in Etsako West Local Government Area, where he was hosted by the acting State Chairman of APC, Emperor Jarret Tenebe.

His kinsmen had lined the roads from Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area to welcome him and entourage motorcade to his private residence, venue of the reception.
