Edo Queens of Nigeria have been crowned WAFU-B Women’s Champions League champions after a sensational 6–3 victory over Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final.
The Benin City-based side produced a stunning attacking display to overwhelm their Ghanaian opponents in a nine-goal thriller, scoring six goals to seal the regional crown in emphatic fashion.
Edo Queens’ triumph completes a remarkable campaign in which they demonstrated both attacking firepower and resilience, culminating in a memorable final victory over one of the region’s strongest women’s clubs.
The 6–3 scoreline underlines the intensity and quality of the final, with both sides contributing to a remarkable goal feast.
The championship victory is a major achievement for Edo Queens and Nigerian women’s football, further establishing the club as a force in West African women’s football.
Speaking to Midwest Herald via the phone, Chairman of Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance praised the champions for their fighting spirit and dedicated the trophy to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
