Exclusive: APC Cedes 2024 Governorship Ticket to Edo South

With less than 60 days to the deadline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for political parties to conduct their primaries for the September 21, 2024 Edo Governorship Election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has decided to pick its flagbearer from Edo South Senatorial Zone of the state.
Midwest Herald can authoritatively report that, the APC decision is informed by the report on the vote spread during the last National Assembly election in the state.
The leadership of the party also considered the ongoing agitation by the three senatorial districts, as our informant explained that, the different calls and agitation were given “studied consideration by leaders of the party.”
The decision which was taken last Tuesday, Midwest Herald learnt is based on “the imperativeness to return Edo to be part of the progressive states.”
