Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor reshuffle of his cabinet involving the redeployment of four commissioners to new ministries.

The state government said the move was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, enhance service delivery and promote greater efficiency in the management of state affairs.

The redeployment, contained in a Government Special Announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, on September 11, 2026, takes immediate effect.

Under the new arrangement, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue is moving from the Ministry of Water Resources to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, while Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Udwiae is redeployed from Physical Planning and Urban Development to the Ministry of Water Resources.

Also affected is Hon. Andrew Momodu, who is moving from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources.

Prof. Omorodion I. Ikponmwosa, hitherto Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The government described the exercise as a strategic adjustment aimed at bringing the affected commissioners’ experience and expertise to bear on their respective new portfolios.

Governor Okpebholo consequently urged the commissioners to remain committed to the administration’s SHINE Agenda and contribute to the sustainable development of Edo State.

The latest cabinet adjustment comes as the Okpebholo administration continues its efforts to reposition the state’s ministries and agencies for improved performance and delivery of its development programmes.
