President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former lawmaker Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as the Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), as part of a fresh round of appointments announced by the Presidency.
Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in Edo State. His appointment takes immediate effect.
A former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, Obahiagbon is widely known for his legislative experience and distinctive oratory.
In the same announcement, President Tinubu reappointed former House of Representatives member Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC. Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th National Assembly, had resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in his home state.
The President also appointed Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
Namdas succeeds Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down to contest for an elective office in his home state.
A former member of the House of Representatives representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He also contested in the recent governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
Before his political career, Namdas built a reputation as a journalist and public relations practitioner, serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said all the appointments take effect immediately.
