Edo PDP: Why We Suspended Osadolor, Deputy National Youth Leader – Isi North Ward

Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been suspended by his Isi Ward, Uhunmwonde Local Governmemt Area of Edo State. The suspension according to the party has become necessary to protect the party’s integrity and ensure accountability by those elected or appointed to serve the party.

The riotous politician was fingered on sundry indicatable offences, concerning the handling of “gifts and finances” meant for the smooth running of the party in Isi Ward.

Osadolor has also been accused of diverting “the yearly Christmas and New Year gifts” to his house where he shared them “…as he wishes leaving out the Chairman and Leaders of the party.” He is also facing charges of embezzlement and misappropriation of the funds for last Presidential, National Assembly, House of Assembly, which the party lost in the state, and even the recently held Local Government Election.

Midwest Herald learnt that, Osadolor deliberately created parallel leadership structure in Isi Ward, a situation his accusers claim has polarized and weaken the party in Uhunmwonde chapter of the party.

His other wrong doings are his usurpation of the authority of Ward EXCO, flagrant disregard of the constitution of the party, abandonment of his national duties of youth mobilization, meddlesomeness in ward activities thereby excluding majority of the party faithful from the party.

Also, the suspended NEC member has assumed the sole right to “unilaterally nominate “persons from ward for appointment and positions without consultation with leaders and executives of his ward, in addition to his acclaimed disrespectul relationship with leaders and elders of the party across the state.

Osadolor is higly “..insolent and highly disrespectful to elders of the party.” One of the signatories to the petition stated.

In summary, Timothy Osadolor has been suspended on allegations of anti-party activities, embezzlement, impunity and flagrant disregard of the party constitution.

The suspension of Osadolor was contained in a September 13, 2023 letter to the State Chairman of the PDP, Tony Aziegbemi, which receipt was acknowledged on September 21, 2023. The letter was signed by thirteen members of Isi Ward Executive, led by the chairman, Sunday Eguabor.

The letter reads: “This is to inform you that Hon. Timothy Osadolor, the National Deputy Youth Leader has been suspended from the party by the Executive of Isi North, Uhunwonde Local Government Area, Edo State, due to various serious actions and activities of his that are detrimental to the progress of the party.

“These include anti-party activities, embezzlement, impunity, and flagrant disregard of the party constitution. The executives in Isi North ward have taken these decisions after careful consideration and gathering substantial evidence of his wrongful actions. The suspension is a necessary measure to protect the party’s integrity and ensure that all members are held accountable for their actions.

“Some of his infractions include:

1. Cornering all gifts and finances meant for the smooth running of the party in our ward.

2. The yearly Christmas and new year gifts were always taken by him to his house and shared as he wishes leaving out the Chairman and Leaders of the party.

3. Embezzlement and misappropriation of the funds for last presidential, National Assembly, House of Assembly and even the recently held local government election

4. Creation of parallel leadership structure in the ward

5. Usurpation of the authority of ward exco

6. Flagrant disregard of the constitution of the party

7. Abandonment of his national duties of youth mobilisation

8. Meddlesomeness in ward activities thereby excluding majority of the party faithful from the party

9. Insolent and highly disrespectful to elders of the party

10. Unilateral nomination of persons from ward for appointment and positions without consolation with leaders and executives of the ward, etc

“These constitute anti party activities which go against the principles and objectives of the party.

‘Furthermore, Hon. Timothy Osadolor has been displaying impunity by disregarding the rules and regulations of the party, this includes ignoring the directives of the party leaders, refusing to cooperate with party structures, and disobeying internal party process. Such behaviour demonstrates a lack of respect for the party authority and can cause significant divisions within the party.

“Lastly, the flagrant disregard of the party’s constitution by a national executive member is a serious offense. The constitution serves as the guiding document for all members, outlining their

rights, responsibilities and procedures for decision making. By disregarding the constitution, the Deputy Youth leader not only undermines the democratic principles on which the party is built but also weakens the trust and cohesion among the party members.

“Given the gravity of these allegations, and the need to maintain the party’s ethical standards, the ward executives have decided to suspend Hon. Timothy Osadolor, the national deputy youth leader from the party with immediate effect.

“This suspension will ensure a fair investigation of the allegations, protect the party’s reputation, and send a clear message that unethical behaviour will not be tolerated within the party.

“Other actions such as expulsion or legal proceedings will be determined based on the outcome of the investigation and the severity of the infractions committed by Hon. Timothy Osadolor.

“The party remains committed to upholding its value and ensuring that all members act in the best interest of the party and its constituents.”

Calls to the embattled politicians were not answered at the time of this report.
