AFCON: NIS Boss Commends Super Eagles Outing, Says Focus Should Be on ‘Golden’ Bronze Match
NIS DG, Shaibu in Morocco cheering Super Eagles

The National Institute for Sports (NIS) charged the players and officials of the Super Eagles to put the semifinal 4-2 penalty shootout loss against the Atlas Lions of Morocco and focus on the bronze medal match against Egypt on Saturday.
Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the NIS, H. E. Comrade Philip Shaibu who praised their performance said the players gave their best against the match officials, the crowd and the hosts.
He advised that preparation for the next Africa Cup of Nations and world cup starts immediately .
The former deputy governor of Edo State
advised that the super Eagles Head coach, Eric Chelle should remain and the need for his continuity.
He opined that this is not the time to change coach believing Coach Eric Chelle should be allowed to remain and lead the Eagles to the 2027 edition of the Afcon to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
