President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to personally campaign in 12 states as the All Progressives Congress (APC) intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

The President’s decision to limit his personal campaign appearances to selected states is reportedly informed by the demands of his presidential responsibilities, even as the ruling party plans a nationwide mobilisation exercise.

According to the campaign timetable released by the APC, Tinubu is scheduled to attend rallies in Kaduna, Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, Borno, Enugu, Bauchi, Sokoto, Delta, Kano, Adamawa and Lagos states.

Other APC leaders are expected to represent the President at campaign rallies in states not included in his personal itinerary, as the party seeks to extend its mobilisation efforts across the federation.

Tinubu reportedly explained that he would not be able to attend rallies in every state because of the responsibilities attached to his office, but would make time to address Nigerians directly during the campaign.

The arrangement is expected to combine the President’s personal appearances with coordinated campaign activities by APC governors, party leaders and other campaign officials across the country.

The 2027 presidential election is expected to be a major political contest, with parties preparing to present their records, programmes and candidates to voters.

The APC’s campaign strategy will therefore depend not only on the President’s personal appearances but also on the ability of its state and grassroots structures to communicate the party’s message of “continuity of progress” to Nigerians.
