The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, has paid a courtesy visit to a prominent party leader. Chief Dr. John Osamede Adun, in a demonstration of appreciation for the role the elder statesman played in his political journey.
The visit, which underscored the importance of political mentorship, loyalty and enduring relationships, provided an opportunity for Tenebe to acknowledge Adun’s influence, guidance and contributions to his political development and the growth of the APC in Edo State.
Speaking during the meeting, the APC chairman described Chief Adun as a respected pillar whose experience, support and fatherly guidance have remained invaluable to his political career.
Tenebe’s visit also highlighted the place of personal relationships in politics, where changing political positions and emerging challenges do not necessarily erase the bonds established through mentorship and mutual trust.
With the 2027 general elections drawing closer, Tenebe reiterated his commitment to strengthening unity within the Edo APC, bringing party leaders and stakeholders together and building a cohesive political structure anchored on mutual respect, loyalty and collective responsibility.
In his response, Chief Adun commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for what he described as the developmental strides of his administration, pledging his continued support for the governor.
He also praised Tenebe for his humility, loyalty and commitment to the party, urging APC leaders and stakeholders to close ranks, put aside differences and work together for the party’s progress.
The meeting comes amid efforts by the Edo APC leadership to consolidate its structures and strengthen relationships among party leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Beyond its immediate political significance, the encounter between Tenebe and Adun highlighted the enduring influence of mentorship and personal loyalty in party politics, reinforcing the message that political unity requires more than public declarations; it also demands trust, mutual respect and sustained engagement among leaders.
