Hope Uzodimma has declared that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress alone are numerically strong enough to secure the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Saturday during the APC membership registration and validation exercise in Orlu East Local Government Area of Imo State, the governor said the massive turnout of party faithful demonstrated the growing popularity and grassroots strength of the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Uzodimma revealed that more than 35,000 party supporters gathered in a single ward for the exercise, describing the development as a strong indication that the APC remains firmly rooted across communities in the state and beyond.
According to him, the crowd size alone showed that the party already possesses the political structure and voter base needed to return Tinubu to office for a second term.
“You can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in Orlu East Local Government. It means that if only our party members vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has already won the election,” the governor stated.
The Imo governor also commended the APC’s ongoing electronic membership registration and validation process, saying the initiative had improved internal organisation, enhanced transparency, and encouraged wider participation among party supporters at the grassroots level.
Uzodimma argued that the enthusiasm displayed by APC members reflected growing public confidence in Tinubu’s administration and its policies, insisting that the president had shown enough commitment and leadership to merit another term in office.
He further challenged opposition parties to strengthen their internal structures and learn from what he described as the APC’s effective grassroots mobilisation and political organisation.
The governor added that many Nigerians were optimistic about the country’s political direction under the APC-led government and congratulated President Tinubu for what he called a practical and inclusive approach to politics and governance.
