Our Party Has Not Taken Decision on Zoning - APC

The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has denied ceding the 2024 governorship ticket to Edo South.

The party’s position is contained in a statement signed and issued today, December 22, 2023, by Mr. Jarret Tenebe, Deputy Chairman, acting for the state chairman, Col Dr David Imuse, who is presently one of the governorship aspirants.

“The leadership of All Progressives Congress in Edo State has been inundated by enquiries on a news report that our great party has zoned the 2024 Governorship Ticket to Edo South.”

“As a party with strong democratic tenets, we hereby unequivocally state that, the APC has not taken decision on the issue of zoning. There was nowhere a meeting of such was held to take such a decision.

“We have encouraged all aspirants to interface with our teeming members across the state, because only them will decide on who picks the ticket of party.”

The statement added that: “APC is prepared to reclaim Edo and deliver her people from anguish of the divided Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that have lost focus and capacity to deliver on their campaign promises”, the statement said.
