Abuja – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially uploaded the names and personal particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, and other candidates onto the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal, marking a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The development was confirmed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who disclosed that the submission was completed in compliance with the timetable issued by INEC for the nomination of candidates.
According to the party, the successful upload of the candidates’ details demonstrates its readiness for the 2027 elections and its commitment to complying with all electoral requirements within the stipulated deadline.
Abdullahi described the exercise as another important step in the party’s preparations, noting that the ADC remains focused on presenting what it called a credible alternative to Nigerians.
The submission of candidates’ particulars is a statutory requirement under Nigeria’s electoral process, enabling political parties to formally nominate candidates for elective offices through the INEC portal ahead of the commission’s deadline.
Atiku emerged as the ADC’s presidential candidate after the party’s primary election, while former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was later named as his running mate, completing the party’s presidential ticket.
The upload comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with INEC requiring all parties to submit candidates’ particulars through its dedicated nomination portal within the commission’s approved timetable.
