A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt this afternoon, okayed Mr Edison Ehie that was elected by three members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, as the authentic speaker.

Ehie was suspended and removed as leader of the House by his colleagues in the wake of the arson in the House of Assembly.

The state High Court has also restrained Mr Martin Amaewhule and Mr Dumle Maol from parading themselves as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and from interfering with the activities of Mr Edison Ogerenye Ehie as speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The judge warned against the forceful takeover of the Assembly Complex by thugs or police.

Ehie is one of the four lawmakers in the camp of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
