INEC Chairman, Yakubu Visits Edo, Amidst Conflicting Reports On CVR

Ahead of the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State, Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof Mahmood Yakubu is in Edo State for an unscheduled engagement with the Commission’s staff and Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

According to the itinerary released by INEC, the chairman will visit INEC State office where he will meet with the staff tomorrow.

He will also visit two registration centres to monitor the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise. There after, the visiting INEC chairman will proceed to the controller, Federal Ministry of Works.

His last engagement is a meeting with members of ICCES at office of the Commissioner of Police, Edo State.

It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC), had severally accused the Peoples Democratic Party of working with some staff of the commission to right the all important September 21, 2024 with the CVR exercise.
