I’m Most Qualified to Fly APC Flag – Dr. David Imuse

The foremost aspirant for the Edo APC ticket, Dr David Imuse has said that he has all the qualities required to fly the party flag in the 2024 State Governorship election, which includes loyalty to the party, capacity, charisma, competence, candour, temperament and political sagacity.
Imuse who retired as a Director, Nigeria Army Medical Corps was addressing party faithful in Igarra, Agenebode and Fugar, in Edo North senatorial district of the state when he said that he is a household name who knows the delineation and peculiarities of the state having served as the Chairman of the party and traversed the State’s 192 wards a record three times in the last ten years.
The trip to the three Local Government council areas was in continuation of Imuse’s state wide tour to meet with party elders, leaders and supporters and explain to them how the party has fared under his leadership beginning as Acting State chairman, to being State Caretaker Committee Chairman and Substantive State chairman within a span of three years.
“You can’t be more Catholic than the Pope. I have come to tell you personally that what you have heard that, I, Dr David Imuse is running for the office of Governor of Edo state, is true.
I believe that it is the time for the party to present its own as the flag-bearer of our party to avoid the repeat of our most recent experience.
“As you are aware the party went through a calamity that almost grounded it after Mr Godwin Obaseki left, taking with him a large section of the party executives across board. It took the grace of God for the party to reorganize and reengineer itself to the standard we are today; a standard that now made the APC more attractive for many to join and seek elective offices and even win.
“I know the pains of our members. I know what we have collectively passed through. I can tell the stories because I was there. So it is my prayer that you all as party faithful will take the message back home and shout it aloud that it is the time for the party to have it’s own as the governor of our state.
The time for experimentation is over. We need a party man who will govern Edo state to the glory of God, for the good of all Edo people and the interest of our party members”.
Meanwhile, Col Imuse also informed party faithful that he came from a humble background as the Son of a rice farmer in Uhiele-Ekpoma, Esan West local government area but by dint of hard work went to the University of Benin Medical School, graduated as a Doctor before joining the Nigeria Army.
He said after he served the country as a solider for thirty years and was decorated with several accolades inclusive of the Distinguished Service Star, Forces Service Star and the Meritorious service Star by the Nigeria Army, he went into private business and set up the firm of Davina Group which today is the country’s foremost dealer in medical equipment.
