The member representing Ovia Federal Constituency, Hon. Dennis Idahosa has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship primaries for the September 21, 2024 election in Edo State.

Ize-Iyamu, Okpebholo collaborated to wrestle victory from Idahosa

Idahosa scored 40,000 votes to emerge victorious in an that witnessed the withdrawal of a two term governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mr. Lucky Imasuen who was deputy governor to Prof Oserheimen Osunbor in the aborted administration of 2008.

Today’s exercise was peaceful across the entire 18 local government areas of the state.

The Primary, which was in the direct election format, was held in the 192 wards across the state.

At about 9:30 am, APC members converged on some designated wards, waiting to cast their vote for their preferred aspirants.

In Oredo wards one and two, the exercise was peaceful as the voters were counted while in the queue.

The situation was the same at Ikpoba Okha Ward 6. The voters waited patiently in the queue to be counted.

Also, in Oredo ward 7, the APC turned up for the exercise but there was a visible resistance from some persons who were identified as loyalists to Ize-Iyamu and were on ground to ensure the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo.

exercise.

There was an incident during the collation of results in Benin City involving cameramen of some television stations who were accused of releasing unverified results.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of Congress Committee, Hopes Uzodinma announced the result after the collation from all 18 local government areas.
