Aviation Stakeholders Hail Keyamo’s Suspension of Nigeria Air, Airport Concession

Alhaji Abubarkar Bibi, former General Manager, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Alhaji has described the appointment of Olorogun Festus Keyamo SAN has described his appointment as the Minister of Aviation and Aeronautic Development hailed the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, as a “welcome development.”

Bibi also praised the minister over the suspension of the controversial Nigeria Air project and airport concessions.

Bibi, at various times served as Airport Manager for Ilorin International Airport, Sokoto, Gombe and Makurdi Airports before his retirement, added that, the way Keyamo had started, has given hope to the stakeholders that the problem facing the industry will receive attention.

It will b recalled that Keyamo had on his first visit to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos announced plans to renovate the old terminal of the airport and also announced the suspension of Nigeria Air project and airport concessions.

The Honourable Minister has also ordered a committee headed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry to explore ways of improving the revenue base of FAAN.
