APC Fold Swells in Edo, as Lawmaker Defects from PDP
By Reporter
Mr. Ojiezele Osezua Sunday, the lawmaker representing Esan South-East constituency, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
The two-time lawmaker, was first elected on the platform of APC between 2019 and 2023, before he defected to the PDP and was subsequently re-elected in the 2023.
His defection back to the APC has reduced the number of PDP lawmakers in the Edo State House of Assembly from 14 to 13.
Ojiezele supported his decision to leave the PDP with “the irreconcilable crisis rocking the party at both the state and national levels”, while promising to win diciples back to the APC.
Ojeziele was received back by the Acting State Chairman of the APC, Jarret Tenebe, alongside members of the state executive council. He welcomed Ojiezele and charged him to bring more PDP members to the APC.
With Ojeziele’s defection, Edo State House of Assembly now has 13 PDP members, APC 10 and Labour Party (LP) with 1 member.
