The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, and the party’s former National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.

Others expelled include Umar Bature, Ajibade Kamarudeen, Mao Ohabunwa, Uwachukuwu, George Turner, Dan Orbih, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Austin Nwachukwu and Abraham Amah.

Olabode George, former national vice-chairman of the party (south), moved the motion for the expulsion, while Samaila Buga, chairman of the PDP in Bauchi, seconded him.

Their expulsion was announced during the ongoing PDP convention held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

George, one of the party’s oldest power brokers, declared that the party must restore discipline and unity in its ranks.

The motion was promptly seconded by Hon. Samaila Buga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State, paving the way for the convention to adopt it.
