APC Strips PDP of Two More Legislators…It’s a Broader Political Awakening in Edo – Tenebe

By Reporter
Two members of Edo State House of Assembly has dumped their party, the People’s Democraric Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The latest defection has further weakened the PDP’s presence in the state legislature to just three members out of the total 24 members.
The defectors, Eugene Inegbeboh (Igueben Constituency) and Andrew Uzamere (Ovia II Constituency), were officially received into the APC today at the party’s secretariat in Benin by the State Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe.
Their defection reduces the PDP’s seats count in the 9th assembly from 15 to just three, while the APC now holds 21 seats.
Speaking at the reception, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe described the development as part of “a broader political awakening across Edo State,” and emphasized the APC’s commitment to inclusiveness, discipline, and development.
“There are no old or new members in APC, we are one united family. Your arrival strengthens our vision and brings valuable experience that will enrich our grassroots outreach.” Tenebe said.
He called on Edo State people to support Governor Monday Okpebholo and his administration’s people-focused agenda.
Responding, the new APC lawmakers expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and pledged to contribute meaningfully to the party’s growth and governance goals.
