Edo South Constituents Score Senator Neda Imasuen High at Town Hall Meetings

Mr. Neda Bernard Imasuen, Senator representing Edo South, is basking in the glory of his successful Town Hall meetings which saw him visiting the grassroots of all seven Local Goverment Areas in his Senatorial District.

The ‘tour of duty’ that spanned an entire week, gave stakeholders the opportunity to interface with the senator.
The meetings were held at each of the local government headquarters and had in attendance, market men and women, community leaders, youth representatives, farmers, faith based leaders, amongst others.

At every stop, Senator Imasuen explained to his audience that the tour was designed to give his mid term report and also collate suggestions and complaints from his constituents and valuable insight into the immediate and long-term needs of the district.
Speaking on the outcome of the Town hall meetings, Neda said: “What I heard from the people will shape our priorities going forward.

“Every project, every motion, every vote must reflect the real voices of our people.”
All through his tour, Imasuen, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received, and vowed to deepen his commitment to ethical and inclusive representation.

At the Town Hall meeting in Uhunmwode held in Idokpa, all the Okaigheles praised Senator Imasuen and pledged their support for him.
Mr. Steve Ekhabure who spoke on behalf of Idokpa community, thanked Imasuen but asked for his intervention to fence Idokpa Primary School, and provide health center, and roads in the community.

Odionwere Imagbenikaro who is the head of all Odionweres in Uhunmwonde and Odionwere of Ehor, praised Imasuen’s effort and appealed to him, to bring the lack of physical infrastructure to the attention of Edo State Government.
The activities of herders in Edo South featured as major concern in all the seven local government areas visited by Imasuen.

Farmers lamented their inability to farm due to the presence of killer herders in their farms and forest. They pleaded with the senator to escalate their plights.
At Abudu, headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, the Odionwere, Pa Billy Ehigiator in his address read by the secretary, Mr. Ogbiwi Osili, acknowledged Senator Imasuen’s representation in the Senate and his gestures.

“We appreciate your gesture on the enrolment of JAMB and scholarship to some students in tertiary institutions across the seven local government areas in your senatorial district,” Pa Ehigiator stated.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) was well represented in Abudu to interface with their senator who Mr. Asemota Luke, CAN Secretary praised as hardworking.
The chairman of CAN, Rev. Akpan Sunday Evans and Mrs. Obiriki Roselyne, CAN treasurer also acknowledged Imasuen’s uniqueness as a senator.
Senator Neda Imasuen was elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) two years ago.
