Edo APC Suspends Member, Richard Okozi for Anti Party Activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State has suspend one of his members Mr. Richard Okozi. His suspension was conveyed to the Acting Chairman of the party in the local government area.

A leader of the party told Midwest Herald that, the suspended Okozi had pleaded with some leaders to forgive him when his action was discovered, and claimed he only attended the meeting to get the money he was promised, but the party decided to suspend him to discourage such action.

The suspension letter reads: “We the Ward 4 Excos and the leaders of All Progressive Party, Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State, held an emergency meeting following the alleged report of Anti Party by Mr. Richard Okozi.

“After thoroughly investigations, it was confirmed that the allegation was true as confirmed by some Exco members and the Excos agreed that his attitude called for questioning.”

The party also listed their findings to include the following offences: “That Richard Okozi held several meetings with the PDP Governorship candidate and the Local Government Chairman in Abuja to discuss and expressed his dissatisfaction over the party (APC).

“That he further proceeded to another meeting in Constantial Hotel in Benin City, Edo State with the Deputy Governor and some PDP Leaders on the 28/06/2024.

“That Mr. Richard Okozi also joined the Deputy Governor’s Convoy to show physical support order to mobilize for the PDP in the ceremony that took place in Ogbona Secondary School.

“That also, he called for a family meeting to sensitized them about his defection plan to support the party in power.

“Mr. Chairman sir, you may also recall that Richard Okozi mobilized to support the PDP during the Local Government Election and he was later compensated with SA to the Local Government Chairman with a video evidence to proof his anti party activities.

“Finally, Mr. Chairman, after due investigation it was clear that Mr. Richard Okozi as a member of State Exco was found guilty of Anti Part contrary to the Party’s Constitution.

“Therefore, we the ward Exco has placed him on suspension forthwith and also urged the State Exco to note our standing,” the letter read.
