Ogbeide-Ihama Kick-starts ‘Edo New Vision’ Guber Campaign, Visits Edo South Leaders Tomorrow
By Reporter
The political space in Edo State is about to witness a major shake-up in the quest of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to produce the next Governor that will take over from Mr Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent Governor, as Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama kick-starts his campaign with a visit to the leadership of Edo South Senatorial District.
Ogbeide-Ihama who tags himself as the “Real Homeboy,” is coming at the beehive of controversial endorsements by a section of leaders from Edo Central and Chief Mike Oghiadomhe’s leaders faction, for Godwin Obaseki’s sponsored aspirant, Mr. Asue Ighodalo.
Ogbeide-Ihama’ Edo New Vision 2024 is promising to capture the state’s past glory and lay a realistic foundation for a prosperous Edo.
According to a release by Ogbeide-Ihama Campaign Organisation, the Edo New Vision bearer will be received at the airport, and thereafter, he will proceed to Oredo to thank his constituents for the opportunity to serve them in the Federal House of Representatives.
Over 500 PDP leaders are expected to accompany him to Bishop Kelly Grounds to formerly announce his aspiration to contest for the September 21, 2024 governorship election.

“In our collective pursuit of positive transformation, let’s collaborate to construct a society that places sincere emphasis on the well-being of its residents.” The two-term Federal Legislator has reassured.
Ahead of the anticipated entrance of the man believed to have stepped down for Obaseki in 2020 into the 2024 governorship race, one of the PDP leaders earlier today said: “I strongly advocate for your support and endorsement of Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama as the ideal candidate for the Governorship of Edo State in 2024.
“Your participation is crucial in shaping a future that prioritises the genuine welfare of our fellow citizens.”
On the other hand, Showunmi has cried out that: “PDP must take back its party in Edo, those who came to borrow our platform cannot chase away those who have laboured and sacrificed for PDP. I queried the nonsense when they wanted to use our platform to rescue them then wondered if the ideological underpinning of ours and our attitude was sane with theirs. Time again I have been proven right. Will the landlords now become onlookers on their property?
“Suddenly PDP a legacy of 25 solid years will now become a party that stands for nothing. Show me evidence of how Obaseki cares for our party or our members. Extremely Annoying. I have no dog in the fight but come on. You had problem with Oshiomole ran to us, you treated our people like shit and now they must become extinct for you? Where is that done?” The visibly angry Segun queried.
