President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday commissioned Lot 1, an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Dual Carriageway, as he flagged off his campaign for the 2027 presidential election in Kaduna State.
The President inaugurated the road project through a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Ranchers Bees Stadium, where supporters and party members gathered for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off.
The commissioning marked a major infrastructure highlight of the event, bringing the federal road project into the spotlight as the President began preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano highway is a major transport corridor linking the Federal Capital Territory with Kaduna and Kano, two important commercial centres in northern Nigeria. The route facilitates the movement of people, agricultural produce and other goods across the region.
The 81-kilometre section inaugurated by Tinubu forms Lot 1 of the wider dual carriageway project, which is intended to improve road connectivity along the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano corridor.
The ceremony combined the inauguration of the infrastructure project with the APC’s political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
