Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has clinched the 2026 Most Outstanding Senator of the Year Award, further cementing his growing reputation as one of the Senate’s most impactful lawmakers.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions received the prestigious recognition at the 10th anniversary of the Nigeria Most Influential Awards (NMIA), organised in collaboration with VGlamour Magazine in Abuja on Saturday.

The landmark anniversary, themed “Celebrating 10 Years of Influence and Impact,” drew political leaders, industry experts, business elites and other distinguished Nigerians to the Federal Capital Territory.

The honour is widely seen as another strong endorsement of Senator Imasuen’s practical, people-centred legislative approach and his commitment to delivering visible results across Edo South Senatorial District.

Receiving the award on behalf of the senator, former Edo State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo, conveyed Imasuen’s appreciation to the organisers and the people of Edo South.

“I am deeply honoured to receive the Most Outstanding Senator of the Year Award at the 10th anniversary of the Nigeria Most Influential Award,” the senator said.

“This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to the resilient and hardworking people of Edo South Senatorial District, whose trust and support continue to inspire my service.”

Senator Imasuen described the award as a challenge to deepen his commitment to purposeful representation, youth and women empowerment, community development and the defence of justice, accountability and good governance.

“I accept this honour as a call to do more—to speak louder for the people, deliver purposeful representation, empower our youths and women, support community development, and defend the values of justice, accountability and good governance,” he said.

The lawmaker also thanked the organisers, his colleagues, supporters, staff and Nigerians who continue to demand meaningful service from public office holders.

“Let this award remind us that leadership is not about titles—it is about impact,” he declared.

Speaking at the event, the Convener of the Nigeria Most Influential Awards, Ambassador Vivian Lam, attributed the success and longevity of the initiative to perseverance, dedication and hard work.

“What we are celebrating today is excellence, and I believe that positive impact should not go unrewarded,” she said.

The Minister of Women Affairs, in her remarks, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies aimed at tackling social and economic challenges affecting women and the girl-child, including efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children.

The anniversary programme featured award presentations, keynote addresses, cultural performances, live music, comedy and the unveiling of a special 10th-anniversary edition of VGlamour Magazine.

Established by VGlamour Magazine in 2016, the Nigeria Most Influential Awards celebrates exceptional Nigerians and organisations whose leadership, integrity and achievements are driving national development, innovation and positive societal transformation.
