Liberian Consulate Congratulates FCCPC Commissioner Louis Odion on National Honour

LAGOS, June 13, 2026 — The Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in Lagos has congratulated Mr. Louis Odion, Executive Commissioner (Operations) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), on his conferment of a National Honour by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a congratulatory letter dated June 13, 2026, the Honorary Consul General of Liberia in Lagos, Dapo Akinosun, SAN, FCArb, described the national recognition as “richly deserved,” citing Odion’s outstanding contributions to journalism, democratic development, and public service.
Akinosun noted that Odion has earned widespread respect over the years for his principled advocacy, professional excellence, and unwavering commitment to truth and democratic governance.
He commended the FCCPC commissioner’s contributions to Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement and his efforts in fostering an informed and engaged society.
According to the Liberian envoy, Odion’s work has played a significant role in advancing democratic values and strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
The letter also highlighted Odion’s service at the FCCPC, where he has contributed to enhancing consumer protection, promoting ethical business practices, and advancing a fair and competitive marketplace.
“Your work continues to support economic growth, institutional accountability, and public confidence in regulatory governance,” Akinosun stated.
The Liberian Consulate further described the National Honour as a fitting recognition of a lifetime dedicated to improving society, strengthening institutions, and championing the rights and interests of citizens.
“As Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Liberia in Lagos, I join your colleagues, friends, and well-wishers in celebrating this remarkable milestone and in commending your enduring commitment to excellence and nation-building,” the letter read.
President Tinubu recently conferred National Honours on distinguished Nigerians in recognition of their contributions to national development, democratic governance, and public service.
Odion, a respected journalist-turned-public administrator, currently serves as Executive Commissioner (Operations) at the FCCPC, where he plays a key role in advancing consumer rights and competition regulation in Nigeria.
