2027: APC Announces New Deadlines for Aspirants’ Nomination Process
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of key deadlines related to its preparations for the 2027 general elections, giving aspirants additional time to complete essential nomination processes.
In a press release signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC confirmed that the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, as well as the screening schedule, have been adjusted.
According to the statement, the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while the deadline for submission of completed forms has been extended to midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The party also revised its screening timetable. Aspirants will now be screened over a five-day period, from Friday, May 8 to Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Following the exercise, the APC will publish the final list of screened aspirants on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The extension is expected to provide relief for prospective candidates who require more time to complete documentation and comply with party requirements, as the APC continues to organize its internal processes ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party officials have not given specific reasons for the extension but emphasized that the updated timeline ensures a more inclusive and orderly process for all aspirants.
