Honourable Donatus Okpapi has congratulated His Excellency, Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu for winning the 2024 Midwest Herald Politician of The Year award.

The grassroots politician disclosed that the award is “a resounding testament to your relentless efforts, unwavering dedication, and unrelenting passion for serving the people of Edo State.”

The congratulatory message made available to Midwest Herald newsroom reads: “I extend my sincerest and warmest felicitations to you, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, on being honoured as Politician of the Year by the Midwest Herald.

“This highly prestigious award is a resounding testament to your relentless efforts, unwavering dedication, and unrelenting passion for serving the people of Edo State.

“Your selfless commitment to the development and progress of our great state has not gone unnoticed.

“As a seasoned and distinguished politician, you have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and vision, inspiring countless individuals and earning the respect and admiration of your peers.”

The frank message added that, “…throughout your impressive and illustrious career, you have held various roles, including Deputy Governor of Edo State, Member of the House of Representatives, and Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

“I wish you continued success, wisdom, and prosperity as you continue to serve our dear state. Once again, congratulations, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu.”

According to the organizers of Midwest Achievers award, the ‘Politician of The Year Award, is a confirmation of the fact that the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, succeeded in redefining political struggle with all his travails and triumphs, which began with his unconstitutional impeachment and the subsequent reinstatement by the Nigerian Court.
