Living: Somuvie Tells Her Story in ‘Starting Here and Now’

Last weekend, an environmentalist and volunteer, introduced her new book – ‘Starting Here and Now” to the reading public in Abuja.

The book unveiling attracted a select audience at the Eden Botanical Garden in Jadi, Abuja. The occasion featured reading of passages by guests and reflections on personal experiences in life.

‘Starting Here and Now’s is a narration by the author, Sonia Somuvie of her personal struggles, as she pushes through the challenges of business startups and general social hurdles.

She counseled readers that staying focused on their dreams was the sure means to achieve goals.

The author tell readers for instance, that, “Starting Here and Now”, is not just a book but it is a “guiding light, a beacon of hope, and a reminder that wherever you are in life, you have the power to create the life you envision” and that “you already have the strength to make the required change in you.”

She went on to say: “In these pages, you will find wisdom, encouragement, and relatable yet practical tools to help you navigate your journey of transformation and fully embrace your starting point, no matter how humble it may seem.

“You will learn to harness the power of ‘enough,’ recognising your inherent worth and abundance.

“You will discover the magic of dreaming big, even if you choose or have to starts small.

“You will also find the courage you need to take intentional steps towards your goals with passion and determination.”

But beyond the practical advice Somuvie says, lies something even more profound. “A message of hope and inspiration.”

True to the author’s charge, each sentence you read is infused with the belief that you are capable of greatness, “that you have within you the strength and resilience to overcome any obstacle and that your journey is worthy of celebration.”

Somuvie adds that: she “chose vulnerability” in sharing some of her small, yet very dark moments where she had to keep going even though she didn’t have the strength.

“These moments have led to a future I am now very proud of, hence this eye-opening book.’

Present at the event were Senator Ned Nwoko,who was represented by Hon. Gloria Okolugbo; Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo JP, Publisher, Midwest Herald; Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman (South East), represented by his Special Assistant, Mr. Chris; Dr Chris Okoba; Dr Chiazor Gregory and Mr. Niyi Ifetayo, Managing Director, Megastar Communications who was represented by Ms. Nneka Benjamin and others.

The event was ably hosted by Funny Rasaq.
