Amid the current political realignments in Nigeria and Edo State, in the march to the 2027 general and presidential elections; and the 2028 governorship and election in Edo State, Barrister Kenneth Imasuagbon, popularly called ‘Rice Man’, due to his food philanthropy, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State.

Imasuagbon was a Labour Party governorship aspirant in the 2024 contest.

The renowned educationist picked his ADC membership card in Benin City yesterday, July 22, 2025 at the party secretariat party and told reporters that the ADC was a “Credible alternative Nigerians have been waiting for.”

While receiving the new member into the coalition party, the Edo State Chairman of ADC, Kennedy Odion, hailed Imasuagbon’s decision as timely and strategic, stressing that the ADC was building momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
