Jarret Tenebe Call to Arrest Killers of Inspector Onuh in Tribunal Premises, Timely… A Response to the Conjured Story By Osata Osayogie Raphael
By Comrade Orobosa Omo-Ojo JP
A conjured write-up by one ‘Osata Osayogie Raphael’ titled – “If Jarrett Tenebe has critical evidences of alleged killers of Innocent Inspector Akor, it should be consolidated”, is designed to create doubts in the minds of those that may have inadvertently read his warped story.
Raphael’s call on the All Progressives Congress State Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, to allow security agents to do thorough investigation, shows his distorted sense of humour.
This is so, because, Tenebe had always called on the security agencies to conduct proper investigation and to fish out Onuh’s killers, since his fatal shooting at the Benin City airport.
As a result of his call and others from concerned Nigerians, the police through painstaking investigation, arrested some suspects who were later confirmed to be leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, while several others who are now on the run, were also declared wanted.
It is also a public knowledge that some of the murderers have been reported to be hiding inside Edo State Government House in Benin City.
To hasten the arrest of the fleeing murder suspects, the police at a time, also pleaded with members of the public to identify those they declared wanted.
If Tenebe and any other Nigerian accept the police offer to help in this regard, such persons should be praised and not velified like Raphael has suggested in his pontification.
Anyone that is unconnected with Onuh’s murder has nothing to fear, but all those that have been directly linked to the politically motivated crime must be identified for prompt arrest and prosecution.
Like Jarret has advocated, the public should join in the hunt for these alleged murderers anywhere they are found, even at the Election Tribunal premises in Benin City.
Claims by Raphael that Governor Godwin Obaseki has also intensified “his efforts through security agents, to ensure that those who instigated the dastardly and barbaric act should be apprehended, convicted and brought to book” is off mark, considering the alleged role Obaseki has played to frustrated the arrest of the suspects.
Obaseki’s action has not demonstrated any “constructive and objective collective efforts” as Raphael has deceitfully ascribed to Obaseki.
In the prevailing circumstances, the police must be assisted by every patriotic Nigerians to make the hord of murderers face justice for the untimely death of Police Inspector Akor Onuh.
The gruesome murder cannot be swept under the carpet and his killers can not be allowed to continue to use government house and public buildings, including court premises as a safe heaven.
