INEC CVR: Apathy Trails Edo Voters Participation

As the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) put together by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) enters the ninth week, prospective voters in some states are showing disinterested attitude to the exercise.
The Online Pre-Registration figures releaPre-Registrationweek nine—October 13th to 19th, placed Osun State in 1st position with 646,580, beating Lagos to 2nd with 604,819 registered voters.
However, Edo State has managed to attract 11,570 registered voters, and Abia State with 11,221—leading from the rear at 35th and 3th positions respectively.
Worried about the dismay figures, observers have suggested that the apathy may be a reflection of lack of trust in Nigeria’s electoral system.
