Abuja — Nigeria has posted Abass Braimah, a former member of the House of Representatives, as the country’s ambassador to Hungary, following diplomatic appointments approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Braimah, an engineer and politician from Edo State, is among the non-career diplomats selected to represent Nigeria in various countries around the world as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand Nigeria’s diplomatic presence.

Before his nomination, Braimah served as a member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria during the 6th National Assembly, where he chaired the House Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation. His legislative work focused on economic reforms and oversight of government enterprises.

A graduate of University of Benin, where he obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering, Braimah also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Abuja. He is a registered engineer and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

As ambassador to Hungary, Braimah will be responsible for promoting Nigeria’s diplomatic, economic and cultural interests while strengthening ties between Abuja and Budapest, the Hungarian capital.
The new diplomatic postings are part of the Tinubu administration’s broader strategy to deepen Nigeria’s engagement with key partners in Europe and other regions.
