Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting his government, which has translated into growth and development for Edo people.
The governor extended his appreciation today at the official commissioning of the New Edo line transportation service in Benin City.
Okpebholo commended Edo people for the opportunity given to him to serve as their Governor and expressed readiness to serve them, and promised to provide projects that will touch their lives for the better.
On the bruhaha that has greeted his comments on Peter Obi’s recent visit to Edo State, the governor said he only told the former Labour Party Presidential Candidate to notify him as the Chief Security Officer of the state whenever he is visiting the state.
“Am not going to talk much. Even when they said I don’t talk, just one word, one sentence, everybody was crying.
” What I simply said, it’s an advice. Don’t come to Edo without telling me.
“Was I chewing hot yam? Do I need one plus three to make my sentence?
“Do I need to read encyclopedia for people to understand what am saying?”
Governor Okpebholo asked rhetorically, “If telling him to notify me as chief security officer of the state is a crime, so be it.”
And to Edo people, Okpebholo added, “We have made our statement clear
“I don’t know which is paining them. Is it because I said they don’t have ‘shishi’?
“Did they not say they don’t have ‘shishi? So why are they crying?” The Edo State Governor said while addressing an enthusiastic audience.
