Finishing Well: Obaseki To Lead Tour of MEGA Projects

Edo State Governor, will, during the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit, lead guests and other stakeholders on a tour of projects executed by his administration in Edo State, over the past seven years.
According to a statement issued by the Alaghodaro planning committee, Governor Obaseki will lead a tour to projects “that have improved the livelihoods of millions of Edo people and placed the State on the path of sustainable and accelerated growth and development.”

The release listed the projects to include:
- Edo Modular Refinery in Ologbo
- Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area (LGA)
- Ossiomo Power Plant in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha LGA
- Edo Production Centre, Sapele Road, Benin City
- Green Hill Farms in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha LGA
- Edo College of Nursing Sciences, Benin City
- Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin City
- Edo GIS Office on Sapele Road, Benin City.

Obaseki and his visitors will also tour:
9. Benin City Mall; Sapele Road
10. Golf Mew, Benin City
11. John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), Benin City
12. Daisy Danjuma Women Centre, Benin City
13. State Civil Service Secretariat, Sapele Road, Benin City
14. High Court Complex, Benin City
15. Industrial Court on Okada Avenue, GRA, Benin City.

The ‘tourists’ will also visit:

Curiously, the organisers left out the ‘game-changer’ Benin Port Project, the Edo North Airport and the Agripreneur farms in Sobe and others in Edo Central.

Also, no road was listed to be visited by the visiting team. Nothing on environment and flood intervention was listed in the itinerary.
Alaghodaro planning team listed the following as tourists sites that Obaseki and his team will visit: the ‘Bronze Carving Village’, Holy Arousa Cathedral, Agbado Market, and Oba’s Palace.
The tour tagged, “Ancient City Tour,” will also visit the Benin Palace.
