Energy Crisis: Okpebholo Welcomes CCETC 100MW Ologbo Power Generation Plant, Performs Groundbreaking

In a bid to intervene in the recent energy crisis in Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo today, Monday 9, 2026, performed a groundbreaking of the 100MW Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (CCETC)—Ologbo Power Generation Plant and the 300MT/Day LNG Processing Plant.
CCETC had earlier participated in the CCETC-Ossiomo Power Plant, a 55MW gas-powered Independent Power Producer (IPP) plant located also in Ologbo.
A statement posted on the official Facebook page HE Monday Okpebholo stressed that the development was as a result of the visionary leadership of Okpebholo. The statement stressed that the power challenges affecting businesses and communities are being confronted with “practical solutions.”
Announcing the CCETC, Okpebholo said: “Today, I performed the groundbreaking of a 100MW Power Plant and an LNG Processing Plant in Edo State, another bold step by my administration toward energy independence and industrial growth.
“Power is the backbone of development, and our administration is committed to building the infrastructure that will attract investors, create jobs, and grow our economy.”
The project he said, “reflects the confidence investors have in Edo State and the business friendly environment we are creating.
“My administration will continue to support investments that bring opportunity, prosperity, and sustainable development to our people.”
