Dozens of residents from Edo South Senatorial District have publicly expressed gratitude to Senator Neda Imasuen for his ongoing educational support programme, which sponsors Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, registration for students across the district.

The initiative, which forms part of Senator Imasuen’s annual constituency intervention, is aimed at eliminating financial barriers for indigent students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

By covering the cost of JAMB registration, the Senator has enabled hundreds of students to take a significant step toward realising their dreams of higher education.

One of the beneficiaries, Osasere Amadasun, shared his heartfelt appreciation for the Senator’s gesture.

“After passing my secondary school certificate examination, I was stuck and unable to register for JAMB due to financial challenges. Senator Imasuen’s intervention changed everything for me.

“He sponsored my JAMB exam, which I passed with flying colours. I am truly grateful, ” he said.

Another emotional testimonial came from Mrs Katherine Obukohwo, who credited the Senator with making her daughter’s academic progress possible.

“Everyone, please join me in saying a very big ‘thank you’ to our distinguished Senator, Barrister Neda Imasuen, for sponsoring my daughter’s JAMB exam, ” she said.

“My daughter Angel was among the students sponsored by Senator Neda.

“Despite a long delay in accessing her result due to a lost SIM card, we finally got it — and she scored 303! We are overjoyed.

“Angel is currently attending post-UTME lessons while we await the sale of admission forms by the University of Benin.”

Mrs Obukohwo, who resides on St. Matthew Street, opposite St. Matthew Catholic Church, off Irhirhi Road in Benin City, prayed for continued divine protection and favour upon the lawmaker.

“Thank you so very much, sir, for your compassion and love for your people. May God keep you safe always and increase you in all-round blessings,” she added.

Senator Imasuen, who represents Edo South in the National Assembly, has consistently championed education, youth empowerment, and social development in his constituency.

His JAMB sponsorship scheme, now in its annual cycle, is one of several people-focused programmes designed to foster access to education and improve the future prospects of young Nigerians.

Residents say the programme has not only removed a significant financial burden for families but also reinforced the belief that political representation can yield direct, life-changing impact.

With testimonies still pouring in from other grateful beneficiaries, many in Edo South are urging other public officials to emulate Senator Imasuen’s people-centred approach to governance.
