‎The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council has described the appointment of Dr. Patrick Ebojele as the new Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo as a well-deserved recognition of his professionalism, versatility and longstanding contributions to journalism and public communication.

In a joint statement weekend by the Chairman, Patrick Ochoga, and Secretary, Patrick Ahanor, they noted that Dr. Ebojele’s wealth of experience across reputable media organisations, along with his distinguished record in public administration and academics, placed him in an excellent position to steer the governor’s media engagements.

Ochoga and Ahanor expressed confidence that the new scribe will bring clarity, transparency, and renewed dynamism to the communication machinery of the Edo State Government.

The statement added: “Ebojele’s appointment reflects the Edo State Government commitment to fostering a more open, responsive, and people-oriented information system.”

While wishing him success in advancing a constructive and professional working relationship between the government and journalists in the state, the Chapel further pledged its support and cooperation as Dr. Ebojele assumes responsibility as Governor Okpebholo’s spokesman.

Dr. Ebojele, a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration and formerly a Correspondent with Channels TV was on Thursday, December 4, 2025 appointed as CPS by Governor Okpebholo in place of Mr. Fred Itua.
