As the Supreme Court of Nigeria finally brings the litigation on the outcome of the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State, to conclusion on Thursday July 10, 2025, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) legal team has expressed confident in the transparency of the judiciary and therefore sure of victory.
The source confirmed to Midwest Herald, that the party will carry the day, going by the flip-flops trial that greeted the petition that was filled by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and it’s candidate, Mr. Asue Ighodalo.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria pointed to the inability of PDP and Ighodalo’s lawyers to call witnesses to substantiate their allegations of irregularities at the governorship polls during trial at the tribunal.
It will be recalled that both the Tribunal and Court of Appeal have already ruled in favour of the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo who the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared as winner of the election.
