Edo APC Dismisses Call for State Secretary’s Removal

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, on Wednesday, said those clamouring for the resignation of the party’s State Secretary, Lawrence Okah, over an alleged lopsidedness in political positions are fake and unknown to the party in the LGA.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe, Chairman (APC) Oredo Local Government chapter, made available to newsmen in Benin.
Osarenkhoe said the attention of the leadership of the APC Oredo LG chapter has been drawn to a media report credited to a group that calls itself the “Oredo Local Government All Progressives Congress Concerned Group,” where they attempted to smear the name of the secretary of the APC, Lawrence Okah.
He said Lawrence Okah is a strong APC leader from the Oredo Local Government Area and has contributed significantly to the party’s upkeep in the council.
He added that the leadership of APC in the local government view the activities of those involved in the illicit campaign as one that the opposition political party sponsors.
“Firstly, the group members connected to the media statement coordinated by one Osamuyi Osadiaye are not known members of the APC in Oredo Local Government Area.
“They are impostors and interlopers trying to create trouble in the local government chapter of the APC.
“Members of the public are hereby called upon to disregard the press statement in its entirety, as everything said by the fake APC members is all lies from the pit of hell.
“Lawrence Okah is a reputable party man who has put everything humanly and constitutionally possible to ensure that APC remain the party to beat in Edo state and Nigeria as a whole.
“The Governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is doing very well in the state as project sites abound in all parts of the state.
“Let us continue to support Mr Governor to succeed in Edo State,” he said.
