Edo 2024: Olumide Akpata is LP's Only Candidate - Nat'l Legal Officer

Thr Labour Party, LP has reiterated that, Mr. Olumide Akpata is the only candidate elected to fly the party’s ticket in the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State.

The Labour Party also advised Nigerians to dismiss Lamidi Apapa because his only intention is to defraud vulnerable people.

LP spoke through the National Legal Officer, Kehinde Edun, who dismissed claims of a factional candidate as tenuous and illegal.

Edo said Olumide Akpata remained the only validly nominated LP candidate.

Edun who spoke today during an interview on Arise TV’s ‘The Morning Show,’ described as laughable the “egregious attempt by the Apapa faction to effectuate submission of its purported guber candidate to the INEC through the medium of a letter.”

Edun explained that what Apapa did was not the process. “The process recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is through upload of the party’s candidate to INEC portal, using a code given to the INEC recognised National Chairman, John Abure. It is only Abure that can upload the name.”

He added that, the schedule for the the upload of candidates was from March 4 to 24, 2024.

He added that Apap’s hurried letter was all part of his plan to deceive his followers and collect money from the process.
