Edo 2024: Ogbeide-Ihama Joins Governorship Race with “A New Kind of Leadership” Campaign

All is set for a former Federal Legislator, Engr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama to join the race for the Edo 2024 governorship election.

He will seek the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The declaration will signal a resurgence of the supremacy battle that trailed the last National and State Houses of Assembly primaries and Elections in Edo State, between the parent PDP members and the migrated members that followed Governor Godwin Obaseki from the All Progressives Congress (APC), after he was disqualified on accusation of doubtful academic records.

Engr, Ogbeide-Ihama was the leading PDP governorship candidate in 2020 before leaders of the party prevailed on him to step down for Obaseki.

However, that decision has since become PDP’s albatross and vulnerable point in Edo state.

The two-terms Federal House of Representatives member is a foundation member of the PDP.
