Edo 2024: Edo Speaker Agbebaku Dumps Ighodalo, Congratulates Governor-Elect Okpebholo

All is not well with Mr. Asue Ighodalo and his People’s Democratic Party, as the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Blessing Agbebaku, has accepted the outcome of the recently held governorship election and also congratulated the winner, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Agbebaku felicitation came during a plenary sitting today, Wednesday October 2, 2024. He explained that: “The governor-elect is for Edo people and not for the All Progressives Congress alone and I pray that sycophants do not mislead him.”
It will be recalled that, in the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Senator Okpebholo of APC scored a total of 291,667 votes to defeat Ighodalo anscored 247,274 votes.
The speaker who has been in the news before and after the September 21 election, lost his Owan West Local Government Constituency during the election to APC in a fierce bitter battle with Chief Lucky Ohimai.
APC polled a total of 12,277 votes to beat PDP’s 11, 284 votes.
