Here are some of the latest updates from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) IRev on the Anambra State governorship election (Nov 8 2025), just as collation continues.
So far, INEC has uploaded about 60% of polling-unit results so far to its result-viewing portal (IReV).
Soludo won his unit, securing 417 votes, far ahead of his nearest contender, APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who garnered only four votes. The Accord party candidate received a single vote. The polling unit had 933 registered voters, with 430 accredited. INEC recorded 422 valid votes, while eight ballots were invalidated.
The APC candidate however defeated Solidus in his unit.
Some polling-unit results by local government areas are available: for example, in one unit in Awka South LGA the breakdown was: APGA 152, APC 27, LP 3, YPP 10.
In another unit in Orumba South LGA: APGA 216, APC 1.
Overall media commentary suggests that the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is leading in many units. He is confident that APGA is winning all 21 LGAs.
Meanwhile, there are numerous allegations of vote-buying and irregularities coming from several parties.
Here are some specific results from various wards/polling units:
In Anaocha LGA, Ward 08, Polling Unit 004: APGA 45, APC 10, YPP 6.
In Njikoka LGA, Ward 06, Polling Unit 002: APGA 126, APC 11, YPP 51.
In Onitsha South LGA, Ward FEGGE 2, PU 001: APGA 113, APC 38, LP 4.
In Anambra East LGA, Ward 4, PU 1: APC 66, APGA 56, YPP 21.
These units are showing relatively strong performance by APGA, but with only 56% of results uploaded, the final outcome remains uncertain.
Allegations of vote-buying are serious; if credible, they could lead to legal challenges or calls for re-counts.
Collation and full declaration are still ongoing as at the time of this report.
