Cultism: Okpebholo Goes for Broke, Revokes Black Axe Land Certificate

Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has deployed every government instruments to confront the menace of cult related activities in the state.

According to reports gathered by Midwest Herald, the governor has revoked the title documents for the demolished headquarters of the Neo Black Movement (NBM), aka Black Axe. This is coming on the heels of a suit instituted against Edo State Government by NBM to protest the demolition of property situated in Amagba, a suburb in Benin City.

The building according to a release by Edo State Government, was allegedly used for violent crimes and unlawful activities within the state.

Governor Okpebholo has also called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, to arrest and prosecute the President of the NBM of Africa, Olorogun Ese Kakor, for alleged forgery of Edo State official documents.

This, Midwest Herald learnt, is contained in Governor Okpebholo’s, petition to heads of two security agencies, disclosed. Some civil servants who allegedly conspired in the ‘crime’ are said to have been arrested and being investigated to determine their level of involvement.

The government statement said Kakor is accused of forging government documents, which falsely claimed to authorise him to renovate schools in Edo South Senatorial District, an act, that is not “only fraudulent but a direct assault on the integrity of the state’s administrative processes.”

The statement further admitted that the alleged forgery was carried out in connivance with civil servants in the state.

The act is seen as “…criminal and deceitful, the governor said the alleged forgery was carried out in connivance with certain low-level civil servants within the state bureaucracy who have already been identified and taken into custody while a police investigation was underway to determine their level of involvement.”Curbing Insecurity in Nigeria: The 10 Commandments From iNSDEC
