Buhari: Sen Imasuen Condoles Family, Says Ex President was Symbol of Discipline, Integrity, National Service

Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Constituency, has described the late former president and military head if state, Gen Muhammadu Buhari as a symbol of discipline, integrity and national honour.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition, praised Buhari who died yesterday at a London clinic after a protracted sickness, via a press statement he personally signed and sent to the press.
The statement reads: “I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died today (July 13, 2025) at the age of 82 in a London hospital.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Edo South Senatorial District, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family and to all Nigerians mourning the loss of this towering statesman.
“President Buhari was not only a former military Head of State and democratically elected President, but a symbol of discipline, integrity, and national service. His contributions to the unity, security, and anti-corruption efforts of our country are etched in the pages of our nation’s history.”
Senator Imasuen added that, “From the battlefield to the presidency, Muhammadu Buhari dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria. Whether in uniform or in civilian attire, his commitment to national development and the welfare of the common man remained unwavering.
“His tenure was marked by bold initiatives aimed at securing the country and repositioning its economy for self-reliance.”
Nigeria, Imasuen says, “has indeed lost one of its foremost leaders — a man who stood firmly by his convictions and led with an uncommon sense of duty and patriotism.
“His passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.”
As Nigerians mourn, the national loss, he prayed for strength, especially for Buhari’s family.
“I pray for strength and comfort for his beloved wife, children, and extended family. May Allah (SWT) grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and may Nigeria find peace and progress in the ideals he stood for.”
