Bloodbath in Edo State…As Gunmen Kill Eight NSCDC Officers, Abduct Expatriate

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, yesterday Friday September 5, 2025, reportedly killed eight personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, attached to the BUA Cement Factory, in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Speaking on the unfortunate incident, the state command confirmed this when he said that one expatriate, a Chinese national, was kidnapped while four NSCDC officers have been rescued from their abductors.
The officer who volunteered information said that four other persons were injured during the incident and were currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
“Eight of our members were indeed killed by kidnappers, but a statement will be officially released later today in Abuja
“The incident happened on Friday, August 5, 2025, at about 10 pm, when the officers were escorting five Chinese expatriates after a routine patrol at the company’s entrance,” the officer said.
As at the time of this report, the Commandant, Agun Gbenga, has visited the scene of the incident and the hospital where the injured are being treated.
Efforts are on to rescue the abductees as a joint security operations with sister agencies have commenced, combing the surrounding forest in pursuit of the perpetrators.
This ugly incident comes on the heels of a similar attack on Edo Line passengers and other motorists along Benin-Auchi road. Confirming the report, the Edo State Police spokesperson, Moses Yamu, said 16 out of the 29 kidnapped victims have been rescued.
