Benin Unity Summit/Senator Imasuen Football Cup Final Holds December 21 – Edo FA Chairman

The Edo State Football Association has announced the date for the finals of the 2025 Benin Unity Cup, sponsored by Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District. In a statement signed by the Edo State Football Association chairman, Mr. Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, the final will see Ovia North East Local Government team clash with their counterparts from Oredo Local Government Area.

According to statement, the match will be preceded by a novelty match between friends of Senator Imasuen and Edo State ex Internationals to be played at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

“Thr Edo State Football Association hereby announces that the 2025 Benin Unity Cup Grand Finale will be held on Sunday, 21st December 2025, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, with activities commencing at 3:00pm.

“In furtherance of its drive to promote unity, peace, and social integration across Edo State, the Association has scheduled a Curtain Raiser Novelty Football Match in honour of the Host and Principal Sponsor of the competition, Distinguished Senator Neda Imasuen.

“The novelty fixture will feature a friendly contest between:
Friends of Senator Neda Imasuen and Ex-Football Internationals who are indigenes of Edo State.

“This match will take place ahead of the Benin Unity Cup Final, which will see Egor clash with Ovia North East at 4:00pm.

“The Edo State Football Association warmly acknowledges and appreciates Senator Neda Imasuen for sponsoring the novelty match and for his unwavering commitment to grassroots football development and community upliftment in Edo State.

“The Association invites football stakeholders, traditional institutions, sports enthusiasts, and members of the general public to attend and be part of this landmark event celebrating unity, sportsmanship, and football development in Edo State,” the FA chairman and chairman Local Organising Committee of Benin Unity Cup, said.
