An embattled Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been sacked, after his impeachment.

A member of the State Executive Committee told Midwest Herald that, the Alphonsus Eba, was removed from office for act capable of bringing the APC to disrepute.

Eba had refused to resign despite repeated calls from stakeholders within the party.

Ntufam Ekum Ojogu has taken over as acting chairman of Cross Rivers APC chapter and will manage the party’s affairs until a state congress is held and his appointment is formally ratified.

The decision aligns with Section 17(6) of the APC constitution, which grants the SEC the authority to appoint an acting chairman when a substantive chairman is removed.
